Okay, it’s official.
The Romeria is to be held on Sunday the 5th, and if you have never been, it’s a must do. It all starts in the morning about 10:30 with the escorting of the virgin by oxen to the beach. She will be followed by horsemen, decorated wagons filled with women and children in traditional dress, people on foot, you name it. There will be fun and games for the kids, giant paellas, lots of fresh made potato chips, jamons to be won, and lots and lots of food, food, food. So grab your beach chairs, picnic baskets and get in on the fun. If you get down there early enough you can park somewhere near the beach. Better still, walk along with the crowd, tomar una cerveza y tapa and just enjoy the day. It’s my absolute favourite holiday of the year, and a day I never miss. So far, we have SUNSHINE as the forecast!!!
