What a day! Another great Romeria has come and gone, and I have the pictures to prove it! We could not have asked for a better day.. It was hot and sunny and boy did we have fun. This years fiesta was way bigger than last year, more horses, more decorated caravans, more traditional costumes, more polka dots, actually more everything. A brilliant day!
The festivities kicked off at about 10 at the city hall and then everyone, wagons, horses, oxen, our Virgin Rosaria, who the festival is actually for by the way, all made their way down to the beach for the blessing of our Patron Saint and then the festivities got under way. If you have never been to one of these, you have no idea what you are missing. The whole town plus thousands of others spent an incident free day on the beach drinking, eating, riding, dancing, singing, shopping on the beach.
Enjoy the photos! I will be putting some up every day for the next couple of days.
More tomorrow.
I can’t wait for tomorrow! It looks a fantastic day and we hope to be there next year.
This Festival, and the San Juan festival on the 23 of June are well worth coming for.. it really is a great day!!
What a great day. I agree, it was bigger and better than previous years! Definitley worth seeing. Now, 3 days later we’re back in the UK, and guess what? Yes, it’s raining and cold! Already talking about our next trip to Salobreña. See you soon.
Lovely!
