If you are into bird watching, and you are coming to the area, be sure to check out the marshes park located in the Motril Beach region called La Charca de Suárez. The park is open year round, and covers about 20 hectares in total. It was a very chilly day with not much sun, but just look what I saw today!

That’s it for La Charca this week, I go there every Saturday, so if anything strange or wonderful pops up you will see it here.
I posted a picture of a Heron today also. I love bird watching, but have a feeling you are far away from Texas. 😦
All the way to Spain 🙂 will check out your blog straight away.
I am staying at the best Western hotel in Salobreña until the beginning of April and really love the sanctuay in Motril..but…have difficulty getting there…If there is anyone from Amuñecar that goes there and drives by the hotel I would appreciate a lift..I can be contacted by e-mail or call the hotel so that arraingements can be made ….I have my own binocs and a good bird book with me…
Hi Margery,
There is a bus that goes right by the hotel and a stop just outside. From there it is easy, either go to Motril and get the bus, or Salobrena and get the bus to Motril and then a switch.. if you wish, we could arrange to go together and I could show you the way. They used to run a free bus from the hotel to Salobrena for the guests, we could meet and go from there even.. I only have a scooter, and not a very good one at that so the bus it will have to be
