August is sailing past at the speed of light this year, what with friends visiting, work and my day tripping, it’s all been a blur. This month’s calendar of events has been quite extensive. There are still a few more events to attend, so here is the list.
August 19 & 20: Traditional Artisan Cheese Making Market: Learn the art of making cheese right at the beach. This month there will be a 2 day workshop with instruction, cheese tasting and identification. 8 – 12am on the front line beach road in front of the Salobreña Beach 1 Urbanization. Lots of things for the kids to do as well. If you love all those delicious cured and semi-cured cheeses be sure to be there.
August 20: Theatre Lirico Anadaluz- Performing Los Tres Tenores/ The Three Tenors. Come and listen to some of the worlds most beautiful songs. 21:30 at the Auditorium next to the city hall, entrance fee is 10 euros.
August 20: Gulliver’s Travels, the movie is being shown at the Casa de Cultura in Lobres at 10pm entrance is free.
August 25: Theatre- El Avaro, by Moliere. Life in Paris in the 17th Century. This is a Spanish language production in the Auditorium 22:00 entrance is 5 euros. Being performed by members of the Adult Theatre Workshop.
August 26: La Caleta Blues Festival: Don’t miss this fantastic night of Blues under the Stars at the Plaza de Lavaderos in La Caleta which is located right at the water’s edge. This is a very popular event every year, so don’t miss it! Entrance is Free. Starts at 22:30.
August 26,27,28: The Medieval Market is back! Located in the Parque de la Fuente in Salobreña: Lots of handmade items, food and drink. Organized activities for the kids! 19:00-24:00 all three nights.
August 27: Noche de Flamenco La Caleta: A night of Flamenco in the Plaza de Lavaderos: Come and enjoy a night of beautiful Flamenco music under the stars. Concert starts at 22:30. Entrance is free.
