Well we had some excitement today, there was a pretty big brush fire in the vega between Salobreña and Playa Granada today. The fire lasted about 3 hrs. No real damage was done, and it is believed that the fire was started by someone attempting to clear his land of scrub, but that will probably not be confirmed. The fire department came out in full force, but they let it continue to burn until it became a threat to any houses. It’s good to get the land cleared, plus it gets rid of a lot of unwanted pesky insects.
Earlier in the week I got lucky on the beach…wait.
Yesterday I was a guest of a friend at the International Club of Salobreña on a short day trip to Velez de Benaudalla, it was a great outing with a visit to the church, the fortress tower and the Nazari Gardens there. I definitely recommend it.
