Well you can’t have lived here, or visited the area and not know that the we have a lot of almond trees in the area.  We even have an urbanization called El Monte de Los Almendros,  Almond Mountain to the  linguistically challenged.  Anyway, it is at this time of year that the almonds come into bloom, and the sprinkling of pale pink petals can be seen all over the place.

A few years ago the boss man and I  stayed in a little town called Casabermeja near Malaga,  it is surrounded by almond orchards for as far as the eye can see. It is just spectacular to see row upon row of flowering  almond trees.  Trees that flower now will be giving beautiful luscious fruit come September.  Here are a couple of shots that I took yesterday up the Monte.

Mother Nature Rocks!

I look forward to seeing you in my polvorones next Christmas!

So pretty.

And what a view.  I am very pleased to post this photo submitted by Mike at Salobrena Holidays, his website is located in my blog roll, so if you are interested in the area, take a look at his site.  Please be sure to check out all of the rental websites to find that perfect vacation spot.  I believe that this photo was taken from his property located up on Monte de Los Almendros just outside of Salobrena.
