Well, ask and ye shall receive… it’s true.  In the mail this morning was this fantastic shot of the Virgin Carmen being carried to the waters edge for her voyage by boat around the bay.  I am still looking for more photos if anyone has any so do send anything you have.  This photo was taken by Norm, who is a long time resident in the area.  I thank you Norm it really is a great shot!

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue,

Where would I be, if I didnt have you.

Although we’re apart and we can’t be near

You know I’ll be back, so have no fear.

Clean up the kitchen, the bathroom, the porch,

For I’m coming home soon and I still hold a torch.

This is a very special Valentine to the love of my life, my partner in crime and best friend Michael.  Happy Valentine’s Day Dear.  I Love You and Miss You.

What a day!  Another great Romeria has come and gone, and I have the pictures to prove it!  We could not have asked for a better day.. It was hot and sunny and boy did we have fun.  This years fiesta was way bigger than last year, more horses, more decorated caravans, more traditional costumes, more polka dots,  actually more everything.  A brilliant day!

The festivities kicked off at about 10 at the city hall and then everyone, wagons, horses, oxen, our Virgin Rosaria, who the festival is actually for by the way, all made their way down to the beach for the blessing of our Patron Saint and then the festivities got under way. If you have never been to one of these, you have no idea what you are missing. The whole town plus thousands of others spent an incident free day on the beach drinking, eating, riding, dancing, singing, shopping  on the beach.

Enjoy the photos! I will be putting some up every day for the next couple of days.

He's right behind me isn't he.

He is right behind me isn't he

More tomorrow.

These first 2 photos are the official fire starters making there way down to the beach along main road.

There were thousands on the beach last night for fireworks, live music, dancing, wish making and just all around fun. The tradition is, that you are supposed to make a wish, write it on a scrap of paper and throw it into the fire, and then take a dip in the ocean, which thousands did..

This little piggy went to market.

thislittlepiggy.jpg

Indeed this little fellow did go to market. We had a bit of a party last night, a late night and a good time was had by all. The owner of the bar La Puentecilla cooked up this little pig in honour of a former resident that is here visiting for a week. Ouch, did we have fun.
